1. Who We Are

Amazon Eco Travellers is an eco-tourism operator based in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. We organise and guide naturalist expeditions in the Brazilian Amazon. Our website is amazonecotravellers.com.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only the data you choose to provide:

• Contact form: name, email address, phone number (optional), and your message.
• WhatsApp: if you contact us directly, your phone number and messages.
• Email: if you write to us directly, your email address and message content.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or behavioural analytics. We do not collect data automatically beyond what is described below under Third-Party Services.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to arrange and manage your booking. We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional material unless you have explicitly asked to receive them.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes — ever.

4. Third-Party Services

This website uses a small number of third-party services to function:

• EmailJS — processes contact form submissions and sends them to our inbox. Your name, email, phone, and message are transmitted to EmailJS servers to deliver your enquiry. See EmailJS Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare — our site is served through Cloudflare's global network. Cloudflare processes request metadata (IP address, browser type) for security and performance. Cloudflare also provides aggregated, anonymised traffic analytics that we use to understand how many visitors the site receives. No individual-level tracking. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — our contact form uses Turnstile (a privacy-preserving CAPTCHA) to prevent spam. Turnstile does not set tracking cookies and does not build user profiles. See Cloudflare Turnstile.
• Google Fonts — our site loads fonts from Google's servers, which means your IP address is transmitted to Google when the page loads. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Font Awesome (Cloudflare CDN) — icons are loaded from Cloudflare's CDN. Your IP is transmitted in the request.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the basis of legitimate interest (responding to an enquiry you initiated) and, where a booking is involved, contractual necessity. We comply with Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD — Law 13,709/2018) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

6. Data Retention

We retain enquiry and booking correspondence for a maximum of 3 years from the date of your last interaction, unless a longer period is required by Brazilian law (e.g., for fiscal or legal records). If your enquiry did not result in a booking, data is deleted within 12 months.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (subject to any legal retention obligations).
• Object to or restrict how we use your data.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing.

If you are in the EU/EEA and believe we have not handled your data lawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Data Security

All data transmitted to and from this site is encrypted via HTTPS. We implement industry-standard security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options) and use Cloudflare's infrastructure for DDoS protection and network-layer security. Access to booking and enquiry data is restricted to the team members who need it to respond to you.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We take reasonable precautions, but cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. External Links

This site contains links to external websites (TripAdvisor, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We recommend you review their privacy policies before submitting personal data to them.

10. Children

Our services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted data through our site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted here. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
