River Only — No Roads
Amazon Jungle Lodge
A working eco-lodge accessible only by boat, set inside primary Amazon rainforest on the banks of a black-water river tributary.
The lodge sits at the end of a river route that no paved road reaches. Getting there means a boat transfer from Manaus — first through the Meeting of the Waters, then upriver into forest that has never been cleared. The structure itself was built to interfere as little as possible with its surroundings: open-sided communal areas that let the forest in, rooms with screened windows and the sounds of the canopy at night, and a dock where the river comes directly to the threshold.
Meals are prepared on-site using regional ingredients and served in the communal dining area overlooking the forest. Power comes from solar panels; the only light at night is what the lodge provides and what the forest does on its own. Fireflies. Moonlit river. The occasional eyeshine of a caiman along the bank.

River Boat
A private expedition boat that doubles as your accommodation — sleeping aboard as the Amazon moves around you, anchoring in different sections of the river each night.
The riverboat is for travellers who want the Amazon to be fully surrounding, not simply adjacent. Rather than sleeping in a fixed point and going out to the forest, the boat moves through it — anchoring at different locations along the Rio Negro and its tributaries, positioning guests for activities that the lodge cannot reach and staying as long as the wildlife warrants.
Cabins are private, with full bedding and ventilation. The boat carries a small team: skipper, naturalist guide, and cook. Meals are prepared fresh onboard, adapted to the day's route and the local catch. Evenings on the upper deck watching the river turn orange and then black are, for most guests, among the most memorable hours of the entire trip.
The riverboat is part of multi-day expedition packages. Some itineraries combine both — nights aboard the boat and nights at the lodge — for guests who want the full range of what the Amazon offers. Ask us about combined routes.
